Fuerteventura is the oldest Canary Island, with an age of about 22 million years. The Majorera island is home to numerous spectacular dives on its seabed. The vast majority of dive sites in Fuerteventura are located in 3 specific areas of the island, and many of them can only be reached by boat. Top 10 of the best dive sites in Fuerteventura
In the north is the Isla de Lobos, in front of the town and the Corralejo Dunes. In the center of the island, next to Caleta de Fuste, are the dives of Las Salinas and Morro Jable has the Veril dives. The wide variety of Lobos Island is what makes it one of the favorite diving spots in Fuerteventura for beginners and professionals.
Isla de Lobos stands out for its great variety of different seabeds for all tastes and levels of experience of divers. There are very nice dives of less than 10 meters deep such as El Puente that even the most experienced divers will enjoy, to points of more than 40 meters that require great skill and knowledge.

El Bajón del Río
On the island of Lobos is also the best known point of Fuerteventura and one of the most emblematic of the Canary Islands. This is El Bajón del Río or also known as Las Setas. A fossilized basalt and sand bottom eroded by currents and waves over thousands of years. Its 3 mushroom-shaped rock formations are unique in the archipelago. Divers marvel at the play of sunlight on their 'false ceilings' and the amount of life that seeks refuge there. Shoals of barracuda and jacks in the blue, groupers, moray eels and canary lobster under the ledges and rays or sometimes the mythical Angelshark are the species we find there. At only about 15 meters deep, it is a dive suitable for all levels. You just have to choose the right time to avoid having to dive in strong currents. El Calamareo & el Fafo
Another emblematic area is the Calamareo reef. A kilometer long wall with up to 10 dive sites in Fuerteventura, between 20 and 40 meters deep. Characteristic of these dives are the breathtaking views of the wall and the large basalt blocks that form canyons, caves and passages that make the tour very enjoyable. We highlight the Calamareo itself, Las Anclas and the Fafo or 'the secret cave'.
El Faro, la Lagunita & la Carrera
The Faro de Martiño, La Lagunita and La Carrera are the points to the east of Isla de Lobos, ideal when we seek refuge from the sea in winter. These are totally different bottoms to the ones we know from 'El Rio' but no less interesting. Who would forget the encounters with Charly in La Lagunita or who might be the lucky one who will be able to see the hammerhead sharks at the lighthouse.
El Puente
El Puente is another of the wonders of the 'Rio' that separates Lobos from Fuerteventura. In its caves and passages you can entertain yourself for hours and hours. It never gets boring. And this just 10 meters from the surface.
El Caserón
The best views we can have in El Caserón, in front of the Corralejo Dunes. Spectacular views from the top of its rocks, all quartered among which hide groupers, rays of all kinds and in season, guaranteed sighting of the emblematic Angelshark.
La Emboscada
In the central area, in the veril de Las Salinas, we highlight 'La Emboscada'. Impressive wall that drops from a few meters to more than 40, very close to the coast. Its rock formations invite you to make a very entertaining tour.
Veril de Jandia
Down in the south, in Morro Jable, is the Veril Grande. Wall that drops from 15 to more than 40 meters deep. Known for its large groupers and lots of moray eels. A dive in which the abundance of marine life is assured.
